Wangjuntr Golf Park is not only a strange name which most people struggle to pronounce but it is also one of the most unusual golf courses in Pattaya. It’s a very spectacular looking course and also one of the most challenging. The complex consists of three 18-hole layouts, each with their own unique characteristics.
The Valley Course extends to more than 7100 yards and includes five par 5's and five par 3's, one of which is nearly 250 yards long which most of us will have to play like a par 4. The 17th is one of the more memorable par 3’s as you tee off from an elevated tee box on top of a cliff to a very well-protected green far below. Some of the holes are incredibly long with one par 4 measuring over 500 yards and par 5 extending to nearly 700 yards.
The Highland Course is longer still at over 7600 yards which officially makes it the longest golf course in Thailand. Once again, the holes are all incredibly long with par-3’s measuring up to 250 yards plus, par-4’s just short of 500 yards and one par-5 coming in at just under 700 yards. The course is indescribably difficult, especially the first time you play it and even the best golfers will struggle, and high handicappers should not even attempt it.
The Jungle Course is latest of the three golf courses and its just as “crazy” as the other two and has been carved out of the lush pristine jungle which lines every hole., and it's also as bizarre as the two others. As the name implies, pristine jungle land with mature hardwoods was cut down to make way for each hole.
If you fancy doing something completely different then you should try Wangjuntr Golf Park – it’s quite far from Pattaya so one option is to stay overnight on the course as they have a range of accommodation options.
