Siam Country Club Rolling Hills is the fourth golf course in Pattaya to be opened by the Siam Country Club Group and opened for play in the middle of 2019. The course was designed by Schmidt Curley design who were also responsible for designing the Plantation Course
As you would expect from a brand-new course it will take time to mature and at the moment the course is lacking in mature trees and it will take a couple years for them to have an impact. Although its name gives a different impression, the land on which of course has been built is gently undulating and the front line particularly is reasonably flat although you will encounter more elevation changes as you reach the back nine.
There is a lot of water surrounding the course and two large lakes come into play at the end of the front nine and several ponds crisscross the course on the back nine. The hole that everybody talks about is the par 5 – 15th because the green is protected on one side by very deep bunkers which have been faced with wooden railway sleepers creating what the designers have called a “Wall of Death” about 12 m high. This is a hole where you really need to keep left and play conservatively. Once you reach the green, which is also one of the highest points on the course get some really excellent views. The 16th is also a very challenging par-3 because you tee off from an elevated Tee box over the valley to a very narrow green which slopes away from you.
They have built a very modern clubhouse with luxurious changing rooms, an excellent restaurant and several private function rooms for small groups. The course still needs time to mature but we are confident that Siam Country Club Rolling Hills will become a “must play” golf course in Pattaya
