Parichat International Golf Links opened for business in 2015 and it is an18-hole golf course spread out over 200 acres of open and undulating terrain. Despite the fact that for a modern golf course its quite short at 6,600 yards, this is a difficult course and beginners and very high handicappers should avoid it.
There is a lot of water with no less than 10 large lakes or water hazards spread across the course and they come into play on many of the holes – either lining the fairway, in front of tee boxes or protecting the greens. The whole course is quite open and exposed making it even more difficult if the wind starts blowing – as well as the numerous water hazards there are also several deep ravines and cliffs waiting to swallow your ball.
The course maintenance is a 30 minutes’ drive from Pattaya and quite close to Pattaya Country Club. If you are coming from Bangkok it will take around an hour from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and another 30 minutes if coming from downtown
Parichat International Golf Links has quite a few memorable holes – hopefully your memories will be of great scores rather than ending in a watery grave. The par-4 seventeenth is the signature hole measuring over 400 yards long and is the longest par-4 on the course. First of all you need to make the fairway and ideally the right hand side as this gives a better view if the pin which is dramatically backed by a high cliff. Better to play short of the pin as the green slopes severely from front to back which makes stopping the ball very difficult.
The temporary clubhouse which was supposed to have been rebuilt is adequate and the changing rooms and restaurant acceptable.
