Rayong Green Valley is one of older golf courses in Pattaya and is located around 45 minutes from central Pattaya. The course was designed by golfing legend Peter Thomson and is a typical parkland course surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. The designer has made full use of the natural terrain without the need for extensive shaping and the result if a golf course that will be enjoyed by all.
Rayong Green Valley is set on the slope of a hill and the many natural features that can be found on the course include many large boulders and rocky outcrops interspersed with the colourful local plants and shrubs. The course is protected by some well—placed bunkers which will reward the better golfer who wants to take them on, but the less able golfer had better play to avoid them by using the generous landing areas.
The greens are quite challenging with plenty of bumps and hollows - they also vary in speed and the condition deteriorates during the dry season. Slow play is another common issue at this course as its quite popular with Korean groups.
For those of you who prefer to walk rather than take a cart, Rayong Green Valley is a reasonably easy to negotiate without too many elevation changes.
The huge clubhouse is very run down and old fashioned and gives a very bad first impression. However, the changing rooms are adequate and the food in the restaurant is up to standard.
