The Greenwood Golf & Resort is one of a group of courses located around 45 minutes from Pattaya which was originally designed by Peter Thomson, multiple British Open champion, and Michael Wolverine.  As a result, the 27-hole course is reminiscent of many traditional parkland courses and they have made extensive use of local plants and flowers and extensive landscaping. The course is very scenic with plenty of tree-lined fairways set against a backdrop of rolling hills.

Greenwood is a strategic golf course and you need to plot your way carefully around the courses which covers a wide area with a combination of lightly wooded holes with few undulations and others which are flatter and more open.

Water hazards don’t feature much on the A Course but are more evident on several holes on the B Course, beginning with the challenging short par-4 first hole, which skirts around a water hazard. The greens are quite well protected by a combination of pot bunkers and clover-leaf shaped sand traps, but these are easier to escape than some of the clinging Bermuda grass in the semi-rough, which is ready to trap any wayward shots.

The B and C Courses also have plenty of pot bunkers as well as large areas of native grass which can be quite difficult to play from if you are not used to it. Overall the pot bunkers and mild undulations give a links course feeling to this mainly parkland setting, and the three courses will provide plenty of excitement for the better golfer and will be manageable for the higher handicappers.

The clubhouse overlooks courses A and B and although partially obscured by the mature trees you can enjoy a cold beer from the balcony.

Greenwood Golf & Resort is certainly great value for money, and you will not be disappointed as they maintain the courses reasonably well and the service from the caddies and in the clubhouse are perfectly adequate. A perfect golf courses for a relaxing day of golf in Pattaya.

Good course, lovely experienced caddie. Good value for the money

Generally well designed course, a little wet in places just off the fairways. The greens are reasonably quick, although given the right caddie they help. The pace of play was relatively quick. I managed to get around in 3 hours playing by myself. The cost overall after tipping my caddie was just over 2000 baht that was very reasonable. The staff are friendly & food & the cold beer went down a treat.

Great experience for the price

Reviewed by ; on
For being a cheaper course, it was a great value. I would easily want to play here again. The people working at Greenwood is polite and service minded. They want you to have a great time there, and it shows. The course was all in all OK. The fairways are good, the scenery and the look of the holes are good, but the greens when we played were like concrete. Among the fastest greens I have ever played, and not receptive AT ALL. You have to land before the green and try to guess how far the ball will roll before it stops. If you land on the green, the ball goes off the back. If you are going to try a few different courses in Pattaya, I would reccommend this one if you want to try one of the more "value for money" courses. All in all good experience, but the greens needs some work :)

Course was in good condition, greens were good, speed of greens were around 10. Course maintained well, bunkers are raked, no bad lies ( footprints) in bunkers. Would play again, good value for what you pay.

Great course. Every green was protected by several bunkers. Unfortunately, I found a few. If you are a high handicapper like me you'll love it.

Unplayable

Reviewed by ; on
The course should have been closed due to the wetness of the fairways and roughs. It was unsafe to walk in the rough and most fairways the ground gave away due to the water soaked. I don’t believe the rain caused overnight but over a few days, the course should have contacted you to advise of its conditions and give the players the option to play or defer. The course info said the rough was 35mm, but it was more than 100 mm. So disappointing as I played many years ago and the memories were great then but not now.
