Pattaya Country Club is one of the first courses to have been built in the area and after a partial renovation and a new clubhouse the course is now a firm favourite, not only for the quality of the course but also the convenient location around 30 minutes from the city. The course which is spread over am area of 800 acres over a gently rolling landscape with many of the holes edged by mature trees.
Another reason that this course is so popular is because its relatively easy and ideal for higher handicappers. Many of the holes offer dual fairways with gives the option for less able golfers to go the easier route whilst the lower handicappers can take on the challenge and try to reach the green in regulation.
For those of you that don’t like water hazards, you will be pleased to hear that water only come into play on one hole – the par-3, 16th which involves a decent carry over water to a protected green.
The course is quite heavily bunkered which makes up for the lack of water and as the holes are quite spread out you need to watch out for the OB markers on several holes.
We do get comments that the course can get very crowded at weekends which often leads to slow rounds.
The course saves the best to last with three very challenging finishing holes so don’t get overconfident until you are safely in the clubhouse.
The clubhouse is small but very modern with excellent facilities and good food..
